Last night’s Mega Lotto jackpot was $200 Million. So even if Alan and I have made a resolution to just stick to the regular New York Lotto which gives us a better chance of hitting the jackpot, we both threw in a dollar or two. I figured there was no sense in trying to increase my chances of winning by betting large, because no matter how you played it unless you bet something like $100,000 — it was one in a million literally.
So I didn’t win.. I guess I’ll just have to pin my hopes on the simpler New York Lottery. As they say, it takes a dollar and a dream — and don’t forget, you have to be in it to win it.
What would I do if I won the lotto?
1 – We’re not selling our co-op, we are paying it in full and keeping it to rent.
2 – We will probably find a brownstone in Manhattan and take a weekend home in the Hamptons. (Talk about living rich!)
3 – We are going to get a unit in Manila so we can go home at leisure.
4 – Alan and I will take Angel for an extended vacation in Europe.. follow the seasons where it is dry and warm and return to New York in the summer.
5 – I think it will be a good idea to establish scholarships for indigent students in my father -in-law’s name in the Philippines, specifically in La Salle Taft and in Ateneo, where he attended school. At the same time, I would want to help my Mom with her charitable projects in her hometown in Bicol.
6 – We will find a good financial investment that will enable us to live comfortably off the interest of our winnings.
7 – Maybe I will finally get to set up that boutique in the Village showcasing one of a kind pieces from Filipino designers. (Since I won the lotto, I wouldn’t have to worry about making a profit so it will be for the fun of it and to showcase the works of our talented brothers back home.)
And on and on and on..
