Tuwing Umuulan..

Basil Valdez’s song, recently popularized anew by Regine Velasquez, has been playing in my head.. raining in New York again.  They actually forecasted snow for some parts of the tri-state area, but we in the coastal areas will have to bear with just rain.  It wasn’t so bad this morning — they said the commute would be long and slow, but I managed to get in before 9AM.  (That’s points in my favor considering the boss and I saw each other for the first time again after 2 weeks just today.. )

I have a lot of feedback to deal with and my blog server continues to give me problems, so I apologize for the feedback received which hasn’t been posted and responded to — I have read them and I’m very grateful that you have taken the time to post a comment, but I have been trying all weekend with no luck.  (I have not ignored them and have no intention to — it’s just that I do not have absolute control over posting and editing..)  I would post three or four paragraph responses and I always hit a fatal error which makes me lose the post altogether.  It’s been very frustrating but I hope to get on with my responses tomorrow.

It’s been a very busy day.  The boss hasn’t been demanding but there have simply been too many things to deal with.  He’s off on another trip tomorrow so I’m looking forward to some peace and quiet.  He handed me a couple of note pads again this morning, souvenirs from the previous workshop he attended.

Meanwhile, Alan is on the final leg of his trip and will be heading off to Paris tomorrow.  I wish I were with him but it’s enough that I know I’m getting my goodies and more importantly, the hubby will be back.  He missed Angel so much this morning he asked me to take a picture of Angel with my phone camera as he sat there at the breakfast counter and he had me send it to his phone pronto.  I can’t wait until it’s Saturday again and he’s back here.  I’m going to make a special dinner just to celebrate..

Excited about going home to Manila again

I’ve decided to start a new category which I will pull up just before we fly to Manila middle of this year.  I thought it would be a good way to remember everything I wanted to do and maximize the three weeks I will be there.

The last time around, I failed to eat at Aristocrat (although I did eat in Max’s twice), didn’t get to eat at Dulcinea (hence I missed their classic cream puff, but I went to Hizon’s), failed to go to Baclaran (w/c I intend to do my first week there this time around and Mom and I will visit Baywalk and see this place that is all over our new movies).. spend a day in Divisoria shopping for textiles and notions.. see more relatives.. etc., etc.. hey, I’m supposed to do it over several posts so let me stop here..

A Quiet Weekend

My DSL connection was going crazy on me all weekend, and between trying to connect, attending to Angel and trying to get some chores done, I didn’t get anything done on my blog.  I have a lot to make up for in the days to come because I did manage to put in some drafts which need working on.

I fished this photo out of my webpage which is in dire need of updating.  (I did upload one of my recent posts to the front page to keep it current..)  It’s one of my favorite shots taken in SoHo one late evening we were driving home from Atlantic City last year.  I just kept taking pictures and this was one lucky shot.

It was a fruitful weekend.  I cooked sukiyaki for lunch yesterday and got treated to mom’s adobo for dinner (and again tonight.)  I did our “colds” (laundry) and managed to do the hem of three new pairs of pants for the office.  (MAJOR accomplishment!)  I also managed to go through my closet and set aside what I could give away to Mom’s “foundation” in her hometown.  I think I managed to weed out 20% of my wardrobe — if not as much as 30%.  Alan keeps saying if you haven’t worn something for a year, it’s time to give it away.

I just wish I had another day to this weekend so I can do some crafts.  I wasn’t able to do anything with my scrapbooks although I had done some embellishments in the office during the week.  Maybe during the week.

I’m slowly taking stock of my pasalubongs as well.  I haven’t sent or given much to my youngest brother, Nikky, lately, so I’m trying to make up by putting away more to bring to him when I get home.

They’ve forecasted rain and snow for New York tomorrow.  =(  I have to go to the office early because the boss is only in Monday and will be traveling all week again.  Besides, we haven’t seen each other for two weeks now, so I have to make the most of it.
