The Wonders of New York

It was a muggy evening but the rain had stopped.  Then I found myself by the new Bloomberg Building and was awed by this display of light.  I had to take a picture.. it was just magnificent!  If I wasn’t in a rush I would’ve taken more.  I am definitely going back there with my digital camera in tow.

I felt weak and tired at the end of the day although I didn’t exactly have a ton of work to do.  So I called Alan who reminded me he was going out with his officemates (someone got promoted), and I told him he better have dinner outside as I was in no mood to cook.

I also thought it best to avoid the local route and just go express.  I needed to rest and take the leisurely way home, pick up milk for my little boy and then walk home.  I took the subway to the first stop in Manhattan closest to the express bus route.  It usually lands me just outside Bloomingdale’s, but instead of taking my usual route, I took a detour and walked through 59th street as I tried to decide if I was picking up a cup of lobster bisque at SoupMan which would’ve been on the way.

The building is not particularly striking from outside except for the fact that you know it’s modern due to its architecture.  But inside is a cavity which looks down into a car port which is “encased” in a steel and light frame illuminating it from above.  It’s beyond words.. Only in New York!

The building in the center outside the circular edifice is not part of the structure.  It’s the building across the street on 58th
