Rainy and Grey

Alan’s driving me to work and we’re traversing Grand Central Parkway going into the BQE but it’s a little slow. A fine mist is falling but they’re forecasting a major rainfall. At 53 degrees, we’re really having it good. Besides, I’m being brought to work via “car service”.

My mother-in-law has a doctor’s appointment so Alan is working from home today to bring her to and from. Even when she wasn’t living with us, Alan was always the one taking her though she was with my (then) sister-in-law.
How time flies… It’s been two years since our family dynamics changed but we have moved on. I don’t think Angelo still remembers them…

So what do you do in New York on a rainy day? You grab a cup of coffee, tea or chocolate (the “no sugar added” variety) and go about your day without looking out the window. The rain never stopped us…

In Kiddie Party Mode

I’ve been trying to work on Angel’s invitation.  It is, after all, just weeks away.  Meanwhile, I managed to send the boss an e-mail requesting for permission to “disappear” for three weeks.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she will not try to haggle me down to shortening it.  I am hoping, too, that she will respond soon so we can finally book our flight.

I’m so excited to go home and have Angel’s party there.. I can’t wait for my Mom to see how much Angel has grown.  I can’t wait to see Angel’s face light up when he finally gets the irthday party he wants — both here in daycare and back in Manila.

So I’ve designed the name badge, I’m working on the invitation and I’m in pretty good shape as far as the goodie bag is concerned.  I just have to wait for Easter to pass so I can grab the additional candies on discount.  (Read more about this in my other blog on Motherhood.) My sister is taking care of scouting for venues.. As Alan said, we want it to be someplace the kids will really have fun at.  I want it to be special for my little boy most of all.
